Florida College English Association Annual Meeting

October 17-18, 2002, in Gainesville, Florida

This year’s conference theme, “Many Voices, Many Places,” reflects the goals of  the Florida College English Association. We hope to represent the many colleges within the state, to examine Florida authors, to listen to voices beyond Florida, to share our classroom successes, and to learn from each other.  Join us, adding your voice to those already part of FCEA.

Sessions are being planned that feature Florida literature, department chairs discussing future directions in college English, effective uses of technology, issues of plagiarism in a technologically advanced world, and globalization in our courses.  Friday afternoon trips will be available to Cross Creek for further appreciation of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, to Paynes Prairie to meet William Bartram’s 21st Century persona, and to Bivens Arm for relaxation and canoeing.

We invite proposals for papers, panels and workshops on any aspect of rhetoric, composition, literature and teaching English.

Please submit paper abstracts and panel proposals to:
