In honor of Stephen Crane’s “The Open Boat,” the theme of the meeting will be open to all submissions in English and allied studies including the humanities, popular culture, writing (of all sorts), and so on.  Submissions by graduate students are welcomed.  Select papers in Florida studies will be invited to be read at a special  panel on Florida literature at the CEA conference in San Antonio in March 2006

Submit 100-200 word abstract (by snail mail only) to Steve Glassman (SGlass8404@aol.com), Humanities Department, ERAU, Daytona Beach FL 32114. Include email address for response.  To be included in the program, presenters must register in advance through the FCEA website by October 10.

Final Deadline for submission of abstracts: September 25, 2005.

Featured speaker: Pulitzer Prize Winner Robert Olin Butler.
