Post-Conference Newsletter
                                   October  2001

The  2001 FCEA Conference, READING OUR BOOKS, READING OUR STUDENTS, READING OUR SELVES, held at the Lake Monroe Marina in Sanford,  provided  academic stimulation, information about advancing technology, insights into Florida culture, camaraderie, a great boat trip on Lake Monroe, and exciting new ideas about the future of FCEA.  Next year's conference will be held October 17-18  in Gainesville. We're looking forward to a challenging new millennium.  If you would like to become a member, renew your membership and/or be included on FCEA's e-mailing list, please join FCEA or e-mail FCEA's Secretary, Julia Rawa: rawaj@spjc.edu for more information.

New Directions

Some suggestions we will be pursuing during the next year include:

A joint FCEA/FADE panel with Department Chairs on the future of the profession in the next decade. For information or suggestions, contact Socky O'Sullivan: mosullivan@rollins.edu.
The creation of an online FCEA journal.  If you are interested in serving on the Editorial Board, contact Jane Jones: jonesj@mcc.cc.fl.us.

A page on the FCEA website with a list of FCEA members and hyperlinks to their webpages.  If you would like your webpage hyperlinked, send the URL to Jane Jones:  jonesj@mcc.cc.fl.us.
An online discussion forum on Florida literature open to both faculty and students.  For more information and ideas contact Kevin Morgan: morgank@spjc.edu
