The 2001 FCEA Conference, READING OUR BOOKS, READING OUR STUDENTS, READING OUR SELVES, held at the Lake Monroe Marina in Sanford, provided academic stimulation, information about advancing technology, insights into Florida culture, camaraderie, a great boat trip on Lake Monroe, and exciting new ideas about the future of FCEA. Next year's conference will be held October 17-18 in Gainesville. We're looking forward to a challenging new millennium. Distinguished Colleague
The Distinguished Colleague Award will be given at the next annual Conference for "significant and sustained contributions in teaching, scholarship, and service." All active FCEA members are eligible for this award. Candidates need not demonstrate equivalent contributions in all three areas; selection will be based on overall accomplishments. An announcement about nominations will be forthcoming soon. Submission requirements include a letter of nomination, a list of three references, and a curriculum vitae.
